Launch Of The Falcon Brook plaque
My poem on a plaque for the lost London river of Falconbrook, once called Hideburn, was recently launched in York Gardens, Battersea. Hideburn is the mediaeval name which means strip of land or home by the river. The lost rivers of London were one of Gavin’s favourite themes and he helped me a lot with historical research. Rob Green of Doves Press collaborated on the final design and layout. It was a commission for Tideway Public Art and I’d like to thank Bridget Sawyers and Rachel Fleming-Mulford.
